The Women’s Super League have unveiled the seven stars in contention for Player of the Month honours for September.

With two goals and no defeats yet, Aston Villa’s Remi Allen is up for the honour, as is Inessa Kaagman of Brighton with two goals and an assist in three games.

It is no surprise to see Chelsea hotshot Sam Kerr nominated after four goals and an assist in her three appearances and she’s joined by team-mate Fran Kirby.

Arsenal, who have been perfect so far this season, also have a duo in the running, with Beth Mead and Viv Miedema combining for seven goals and four assists between them.

Lastly, Spurs’ stopper Shelina Zadorsky rounds out the nominees.
