An out of contract player at Home Park could be on the move to a League One rival.

Wycombe Wanderers are looking to strengthen their squad this summer after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign which saw them slump to a mid-table finish in League One.

The Buckinghamshire club had high expectations coming into the season, with 15 new players signed over the summer after a cruel end to a fantastic season in the play-offs.

However, things quickly went south, with Mike Dodds winning just one of his eight league matches in charge, which saw him sacked and subsequently replaced with experienced boss Michael Duff.

Duff managed to salvage a mid-table finish with a squad that wasn't tailored to his taste. Now, the Chairboys will back their head coach in the summer to ensure they can get themselves into the promotion picture come May 2027.

One of the key areas that needs reinforcing is the goalkeeping department, with Will Norris yet to agree a new contract, and Shamal George confirmed to be departing the club this summer.

Wycombe Wanderers plotting move for Plymouth Argyle's Conor Hazard

It seems Wycombe have their eyes on a new number one already, with Plymouth Argyle keeper Conor Hazard a summer target for the South Bucks side, according to reports from journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon page.

Hazard is out of contract at Home Park, but has been offered new terms by the Pilgrims. This offer is 'lucrative' according to Nixon, as the Greens see the Northern Irishman as an integral part of their plans for next season.

However, Wycombe are looking to splash the cash this summer to right the wrongs of this season, and the Chairboys are reportedly looking to top the offer Argyle have tabled to their number one.

Wanderers are said to see Hazard as a major asset should they be able to sign him, which would also come as a major loss for another League One rival in Plymouth.

Wycombe Wanderers must be wary with Conor Hazard deal

Wycombe's goalkeeping situation has been one of their main struggles this season, with Mikki van Sas struggling to adapt to English football before being dropped in favour of Norris, who's hardly covered himself in glory.

As for Hazard, he only managed 29 league matches this season due to injury problems, in which he conceded 31 goals, kept 10 clean sheets, and recieved a red card for a mistake against Port Vale, which could be his final act in an Argyle shirt.

Whilst the Northern Irish international is clearly a good shot stopper, his availibility has been a problem for the Pilgrims far too often, which is something any of his potential suitors must be wary of.

The 28-year-old would arrive at Adams Park with brilliant pedigree and heaps of EFL experience, but his injury record and sometimes rather erratic decision making will certainly be something Wycombe must consider before making a move.

Current Chairboys number one Norris has been plagued with errors this season which've cost his side valuable points, so they'll be looking for a consistent and dependable pair of hands to take on the gloves from the 32-year-old this summer.
