Xabi Alonso confirms Real Madrid star will miss Getafe clash

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is set to miss the club’s next outing.

As much was confirmed by Xabi Alonso on Saturday.

Real Madrid are of course primed to return to action tomorrow evening.

In the club’s first outing on the back of the international break, Los Blancos will make the short trip across Spain’s capital, for a La Liga meeting with Getafe.

The day’s visitors head into the matchup aware that a victory would see them guaranteed of maintaining their place atop the table.

In efforts towards as much, though, Real Madrid will be forced to make do without the contributions of an important member of the club’s midfield ranks.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Xabi Alonso announced:

“Dani Ceballos will not play tomorrow. We hope to have him back soon, probably on Wednesday.”

Former Arsenal man Ceballos is understood to be suffering with a hamstring issue.
