PSG are through to the semifinals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a dramatic win over Bayern Munich on Saturday in Atlanta. The first half was a cagey affair that ended without a goal, but things opened up late in the second.

Désiré Doué broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, giving PSG a crucial lead. Chaos soon followed, though, as the French side went down to nine men after receiving two red cards. Despite the setback, they held firm—and even managed to add a second goal to seal the result.

Ousmane Dembélé delivered that decisive strike with his very first touch, capping off a stunning run by Achraf Hakimi. The right-back weaved through Bayern’s defense before setting up Dembélé with a pinpoint cutback.

Later in the day, Real Madrid edged Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in a hard-fought contest. The Spanish side ultimately got the job done, but not without a few nervy moments.

With the two teams advancing to the semifinals, it sets up for a reunion between Kylian Mbappé and PSG. After Real Madrid’s win, manager Xabi Alonso spoke about whether he intends to start the Frenchman against his former club on Wednesday.

“I don’t know how I’m going to handle the situation,” Alonso said (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “I have no idea. Starting this Sunday, I’ll begin to think it all through… I’ve never faced PSG, but it’s clear they’re riding the momentum from how they finished the season. That’s going to be the challenge. So far, we’ve done well, we’ve competed, and now we’ll try to take the next step because we want to reach the final.”
