Real Madrid could soon face interest from Liverpool for one of their brightest young talents, with Xabi Alonso reportedly identifying Arda Guler as a key target.
According to a report from SPORT, it has come to light that Alonso, currently in talks to take charge at Liverpool, has already begun outlining his transfer plans.
Among the names discussed, Guler stands out as a priority signing for him.
With Mohamed Salah set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the Premier League club is preparing for a major attacking reshuffle.
Alonso, who knows Guler well from his time in Madrid, sees the Turkish international as a potential long-term replacement.
Reports from British media suggest that Liverpool are planning multiple signings, and Alonso has specifically asked the club to explore the possibility of bringing Guler to Anfield.
However, the situation is far from straightforward, as within Real Madrid, there is no intention to even consider a sale.

The club view Guler as a central part of their future project, and his contract, which runs until 2029, further strengthens their position.
Even when discussing the possibility of a transfer, Real Madrid will have their response straight.
However, the outlet does mention that the club would only entertain the idea if the player himself pushes for a move, something that is not currently happening.
From Madrid’s perspective, Guler, 21, is seen as one of the pillars of the next generation.
His development has been closely managed, and notably, it was under Alonso that he began to gain prominence within the setup.
Even financially, while his market value is already estimated to be around €90 million, the club is not willing to sell at that price or negotiate under normal circumstances.
