Real Madrid’s goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano in Matchday 12 of La Liga left frustration and concern within the club over the recent dip in form.

The Merengues failed to secure a victory, days after falling to a loss to Liverpool, and Xabi Alonso has been left worried by the team’s performance.

Although several players were below their usual level, one in particular has caused the coach greater concern for the manager – Dean Huijsen.

Indeed, according to Defensa Central, there are worries growing about some of Huijsen’s recent performances.

Alonso is beginning to worry about the young Spaniard’s decline since his arrival five months ago. Based on his performance in this match, the coach has noticed that the player is making mistakes uncharacteristic of his quality.

He has shown lapses in concentration and has been physically outmuscled by opponents. These unexpected issues have left Alonso unsettled, as he did not anticipate such a drop in form from a defender who began his Real Madrid career strongly.

The Spanish defender did not complete the full 90 minutes against Rayo, as he was substituted in the 46th minute for Eder Militao, with Alonso sending a clear message to the youngster.

The 20-year-old defender’s poor decisions and defensive mistakes during the opening 45 minutes, coming after another error-prone display vs Liverpool, made him the focus of criticism and led to his early substitution.

If the Spanish defender wants to secure his place at the club and maintain his position as a starter, he will need to correct his mistakes and rebuild his confidence.
