The result frustrated Leverkusen midfield linchpin Granit Xhaka, who felt the performance warranted more than a draw.
"We're disappointed," Xhaka told DAZN in a post-match interview.
“That was our best performance of the season. With the ball, without the ball - we worked very hard, created a lot of chances. Sometimes you have to reward yourself.”
Stuttgart captain Atakan Karazor acknowledged Leverkusen's "top performance" and was pleased with the 0-0 draw.
"There wasn't more in the game for us tonight," Karazor admitted.
Alexander Nübel, who made a number of fine saves to help Stuttgart earn a point, agreed.
“We have played four games here this year and this was the worst of them. We can be happy with the 0-0 draw,” he said.
