Victor Boniface tried his luck from a free kick during Werder Bremen’s 1-0 victory over Union Berlin… but things didn’t exactly go as planned. His shot went straight into the wall.

On Instagram, Granit Xhaka, his former Leverkusen teammate, didn’t miss the chance to tease the Nigerian striker: “Please, forget about free kicks,” the Swiss international joked. Nathan Tella, another former Leverkusen partner, also chimed in with a laugh:

Boniface replied that he wanted to imitate Grimaldo, the free-kick specialist. Grimaldo simply responded: “Love you, bro,” keeping the mood light. A humorous exchange between former champions, showing that good spirits endure even when players are at different clubs.
