FC Barcelona emerged victorious in yet another game as they saw off RCD Mallorca in La Liga. The Catalan giants, despite the early pressure from the opposition, remained composed, and their superior quality managed to get them a win.
With goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Marc Bernal, Barcelona secured a comfortable 3-0 victory. Thanks to this result, La Blaugrana temporarily extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.
Here are the player ratings for Barcelona.
Starting XI:
Joan Garcia: 8.0/10
Exceptional on the ball and showcased some trickery against the Mallorca forwards as well. Beyond that, he was solid throughout the game in between the sticks as well.
Jules Kounde: 6.5/10
After an initially horrendous start, Jules Kounde was frustrating to watch in the early stages of the match. However, he grew into the game and ended up delivering a solid performance.
Pau Cubarsi: 7.5/10
Always composed under pressure and did well to keep the Mallorca players at bay. His reading of the game was strong, and he never allowed the opposition too much freedom in central areas.
Eric Garcia: 8.0/10
Put in some excellent tackles and constantly kept the Mallorca forwards on their toes. He applied pressure well, and his distribution was reliable for much of the game.
Alejandro Balde: 7.0/10
Sharp on the left flank, and managed to threaten the Mallorca defense well. Clever with his turns and passes as well, the Spaniard was solid in this game.
Marc Casado: 7.0/10
Intense in midfield and did well to win back possession whenever possible. However, he lost focus on a few occasions, making it easier for the opposition to regain possession.
Dani Olmo: 8.0/10
Played in a deeper role today and did well to distribute possession to the best of his abilities. Managed to provide two crucial assists, even though the first one was a bit fortunate and the second one was a simple enough pass.
Lamine Yamal: 8.5/10
Struggled to make an impact for much of the game but continued trying to pull the strings. His goal was simply magical and full of venomous intent, and his overall play improved significantly towards the end of the match.
Fermin Lopez: 7.5/10
Despite his intensity, the young Spanish midfielder was unable to threaten Mallorca too much. However, he fought well enough in his duels and did provide the energy that Hansi Flick needed out of him. Provided the assist for Marc Bernal’s late goal.
Marcus Rashford: 7.5/10
Incredibly sharp and consistently made things happen all around him. From his speed to his dribbles and his attempts at goal, the English winger was on fire, and Mallorca were struggling to deal with him.
Robert Lewandowski: 8.0/10
Pressed consistently throughout the game and regularly found himself in good positions. He was rewarded with a goal that showcased his tremendous composure.
