Amad has opened up on playing with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, who is reportedly on the transfer radar of Manchester United.

United want Diomande

Having missed out on Antoine Semenyo, who has joined cross-town rivals Manchester City, United are now looking at alternative attacking targets and Diomande is thought to feature highly on their list.

Diomande’s impressive form at Leipzig this season has seen his stock rise significantly.

The rapid forward has emerged as one of the best youngsters in football. He has notched six goals and three assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Diomande’s excellent performances are now on display at AFCON, where he and Amad have formed a lethal partnership on the wings for the Ivory Coast. Both players got on the score sheet earlier this week in a dominant 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso.

Amad netted a fantastic goal before setting up Diomande just a few minutes later.

There have been suggestions that United have already lodged a bid for Diomande, who is also attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to the media, Amad revealed his delight at playing with the 19-year-old, seemingly giving United the green light to snap him up ahead of other suitors.

Amad speaks on Diomande

Amad said [as quoted by the Metro], “Our game is first and foremost about fighting. Everyone tries to contribute to the team, and then we have this understanding on the pitch.”

“We’re also very close off the pitch, so that makes things easier on the pitch. And we’re selfless: we don’t play for ourselves, nobody tries to be man of the match.”

He added, “If I have the opportunity to pass to him, I pass to him; if he has the opportunity to pass to me, he passes to me. That’s what a great nation, a great team, is all about.”

“You have to move forward together to win this competition.”

“It’s not enough to have one player; you need eleven on the pitch, and that’s what we’re trying to do. Yan is a very good player, everyone knows that.”

“But it’s not just Yan Diomande; there’s also Bazoumana, who scored today, and Oumar Diakité. Everyone is doing their part, and for the moment, it’s working perfectly.”

Amad and Diomande are next in action on Saturday evening when they face Egypt at the Adrar Stadium.
