Yan Diomande named RB Leipzig Player of the Season after electric debut campaign | OneFootball

According to BuLi News, Yan Diomande has been named RB Leipzig’s Player of the Season for 2025/26, collecting nine of 10 votes from its writers.

The Ivorian winger was also crowned the 2025/26 Bundesliga Rookie of the Season after a superb debut campaign. He scored 12 goals and supplied nine assists following his €20 million move from Leganés last summer.

Blending blistering pace with close control, he led the league in duels won with 437 and dribbles completed with 115.

His standout display came in December’s 6-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, when he struck a second-half hat-trick. He slammed in the opener after Antonio Nusa was brought down and the loose ball fell to him in the box. He then finished left-footed from the edge of the area before rounding Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer to roll in his third.

Christoph Baumgartner also impressed for Leipzig, totalling 13 goals and eight assists. He received the remaining vote.
