According to L'Équipe, Inter’s French midfielder Yanis Massolin is expected to join Cagliari on a one-year loan with an option to buy in the coming hours.

The Serie A move would be his next spell away from Inter, with the clubs still to finalise the agreement.

Massolin signed for Inter in January for €4m plus €2m in bonuses, then returned to Modena, his former club, on loan in Serie B.

The 23-year-old from Moulins, who previously featured for Clermont, rejoined Inter’s training at the start of July and is under contract until 2030.

Nice had considered a move, particularly if Sofiane Diop departed, but Massolin was unwilling to wait and chose a different path.
