Yann Liénard, Monaco’s third-choice goalkeeper, should be loaned to Cercle Bruges.

According to L'Équipe, the 23-year-old is close to a temporary switch to the Belgian club, Monaco’s satellite team.

A Monaco academy graduate, Liénard sits third in the first-team pecking order. The move is intended to aid his development.

Before anything can be finalised, he must extend his contract, which currently runs until June 2027. Talks are focused on a one-year extension.

If the new deal is agreed, the loan to Cercle Bruges is expected to proceed, giving Liénard a pathway to regular senior football in Belgium.
