According to L'Équipe, Moroccan midfielder Yassine Kechta has signed a four-year contract with Leganés after leaving Le Havre at the end of his deal.
He was a crowd favourite at Le Havre, regularly drawing the loudest cheer at team announcements. That was the case even with André Ayew and Sofiane Boufal in the squad.
Leganés play in Spain's second tier and were formerly owned by Blue Crow Sports Group, which now owns Le Havre.
Kechta came close to joining Leganés in January, but the move did not materialise. Last season he lost his place in Normandy.
A bronze medallist at the 2024 Olympics, he is technically gifted, but his lack of power and output counted against him.
Even so, he proved decisive in the survival secured the year of promotion, including a crucial headed brace against Strasbourg.
Some Le Havre supporters regret his departure. At 24, he now embarks on an ambitious new project.
