Yaya Touré hails progress for African coaches

Yaya Touré has hailed the rise of a new generation of African coaches who, he says, are finally being judged on their ability.

According to L'Équipe, the Ivorian thanked Slovan Bratislava's hierarchy for the trust shown following the exit of a title-winning coach.

He underlined how difficult it remains for African coaches to break through, saying many still need to work two or three times harder just to be given a chance.

Touré said progress is being made, while noting the challenge remains.
