A former Chelsea defender has been lecturing the fans of the club and tells them to be patient in some quotes picked up.
The Chelsea project has come under a lot of scrutiny in the last three years under the ownership of Clearlake and Todd Boehly. They sign young players on long contracts and have ignored the here and now. Obviously, it could come good eventually, but it can’t really be described as good over the last three years despite Chelsea winning The Club World Cup. Fans are rightly annoyed, concerned, and have often voiced their opinions on it. Nothing wrong with that.
But Marcel Desailly is now telling them to be patient.

Desailly, speaking exclusively to EPL Index in quotes relayed by SPTC, has defended the Chelsea board and called for patience from supporters…
When asked whether the fans are right to be losing patience with the board, Desailly was strong in his response:
“As a fan, you want your team to win. But the Chelsea fans need to understand the current project,” began Desailly, “Three years ago, everyone was laughing at Chelsea and the way they operated in the transfer market – many said Chelsea would win nothing this way, buying only young players.”
“But three years later, you see Chelsea earning the respect of many with their Club World Cup win,” continued Desailly, “As a fan you are never patient, and you want to win every game, but you have to understand that the Chelsea board know what they are doing.
“In football, even with the right philosophy, and good players, you cannot control everything – that’s the magic of the game. Chelsea need to win, that’s for sure, but the fans need to understand the project.”
“I want to keep my faith with the Chelsea board and the philosophy of the club. Three years ago, we may have thought the ownership were mad, buying all these young players. But a lot of the players that were bought, have now improved their level and will be worth more money.”
