Ahead of David Luiz returning to Stamford Bridge tonight, there has of course been a big interview with him that’s come out this morning.
Perfect timing of course. Luiz will be buzzing to return, and Chelsea fans will be welcoming him back with open arms despite anything that might have happened since he left the club. He was always adored and loved by Blues fans, mainly because of his character, but also because of his talent and commitment on the pitch. A truly class player on his day and in his prime.
Tonight, he returns to Chelsea on the opposing side, playing for Pafos in the Champions League for both sides next match.

In part of the interview with The Telegraph, Luiz said ahead of the Champions League final in 2012:
“I met Roman Abramovich in the morning and he said ‘how are you?’ and I said ‘good’ and he said ‘how is your leg?’ and I said ‘I’m going to play with my heart and my brain. I don’t need my leg’ and he said ‘oh my God, it’s going to be difficult’, and I told him ‘come Roman, let’s do it together’. He said ‘OK, OK, you are so crazy. But let’s go’.”
So it looks like he almost didn’t play in that game, and what a miss that would have been.
It looks like Chelsea are folding over in negotiations to sign Rennes centre back Jeremy Jacquet, by apparently being open to sending him back to the French club on loan for the rest of the season, just so they can agree a fee that they are content with.
This situation might have been made even worse due to Tosin Adarabioyo now being out injured for a few weeks.
