“You can tell from my body language” – Manchester City board member offers huge hint on 115 charges fate | OneFootball

Manchester City board member Alberto Galassi has made a significant claim around the fate of the club with regards to the elusive 115 charges issued by the Premier League.

The Premier League champions are continuing to await their fate having been first issued with their alleged financial breaches over one year ago, when the division’s top bosses released a remarkable statement confirming the conclusion of a four-year investigation.

The Premier League confirmed at the time that they had referred City to an independent commission over alleged rule breaches between 2009 and 2018, whilst also accusing Etihad Stadium officials of not co-operating since the investigation started in December 2018.

However, in a strong response, Manchester City stated that not only were they “surprised” by the charges, but also that they know they are supported by a “body of irrefutable evidence”.

A statement from the club said at the time, “Manchester City is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League Rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with.

“The club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position. As such we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.”

The Premier League’s Chief Executive Richard Masters recently revealed during a media address that the hearing into Manchester City’s 115 charges will take place in the “near future”, despite refusing to comment more widely on the subject.

Despite the relatively prolonged silence from all parties since the issuing of the charges in February 2023, a new development from a member of Manchester City’s board may have given the strongest signal yet as to which direction the charges will eventually head.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times, Alberto Galassi has hinted that Manchester City supporters have nothing to be concerned about when it comes to the eventual outcome of the 115 charges placed on the club by the Premier League.

“I am not entitled to discuss this,” reaffirmed Galassi when quizzed on the highly-secretive subject. However, he continued, “But perhaps you can tell from my body language I am super confident (about the outcome).”

Galassi was first appointed to the Manchester City Board in June 2012, and is the CEO of Ferretti Group – a multinational shipbuilding company and leader in luxury yachts. Galassi is also an attorney at law specialised in international commerce and arbitration.
