Back in Switzerland after an unconvincing loan spell in France, Meschack Elia has resumed training with Young Boys Bern.

With a smile on his face, the former Corbeaux striker has reunited with his teammates in Switzerland, kicking off preparations for the new season. All signs suggest he will see out the final year of his contract with the Bernese club.

Loaned to Nantes last winter, the Leopard (46 caps, 9 goals) ended up making just 8 Ligue 1 appearances. He found the net only once, against RC Lens (3-1), on February 23, 2025, during matchday 15.

His performances failed to convince the Canaries to keep him. Upon returning to Switzerland, he faces two options: try to reclaim a starting spot with the Yellow and Black, or seek a new destination.

With Young Boys, the Kinshasa native has played 200 matches across all competitions, contributing to 79 goals (43 scored, 36 assists).
