It took just two minutes for what was already a special night for Assan Ouédraogo to become unforgettable. The youngster was brought on in the 77th minute and found the back of the net in the 79th minute - an instant impact from Leipzig's rising star.
Julian Nagelsmann was visibly moved by the youngster's performance, speaking after his side's 6-0 win over Slovakia. "I'm really pleased that he is fit and healthy," said the former RBL head coach. "He's had a long spell on the sidelines with injury and has had to come a long way to get here."
All the more wonderful that his dream debut took place in his new home.

At just 19 years and 192 days old, Assan's goal means he's set a remarkable record: He is the youngest player since Klaus Stürmer in 1954 to score a goal on their debut for the Germany senior side. Leipzig's midfielder also becomes the fifth youngest goalscorer in the history of the Germany national side.
It's all quite surreal for Assan at the moment. "I really didn't think it would go that well," said the 19-year-old after the match. "But I'm not complaining. I'm really proud that I was able to achieve this and I'm incredibly happy." He looks to play in a way that brings out his strengths, and apparently "did just that" yesterday.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann was full of praise for the 19-year-old after the game, not just for his goal, but for his attitude as well. "He's allowed to enjoy this one," said Nagelsmann, who went on to add: "It's on him to keep working though."
It was an incredible evening for Assan. There was little chance of a good night's sleep with all the emotion and messages congratulating him. "I really tried to respond to everyone. It was such a special moment for me," he said proudly.
