An attacking regeneration is coming to Liverpool this summer.

It looks like Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are planning once again to overhaul the frontline.

That opens a gap for a one-v-one specialist out wide and it looks like the Premier League champions will be in the race for Mateus Mane of Wolves.

Rob Edwards’ side’s relegation to the Championship is now confirmed - and the process of cashing in on top assets will begin.

According to a report in Sports Boom Manchester United are looking for a quick deal for Mane - who is also admired by Arsenal.

But Liverpool are seeking to steal a march on rivals by opening talks with the Portuguese player’s family.

“Liverpool has already conducted a preliminary meeting with Mané's family,” the report reads.

“Although Liverpool views Mané as a "future investment," the player’s Premier League experience is deemed sufficient to put him directly onto the pitch.”

Liverpool could get Mane for £30m

Secured on a deal until 2029 it was initially speculated that the winger / attacking midfielder would go for between £40m and £50m.

But owing to the club’s relegation status that price has now come down dramatically.

“Due to the player's determination to leave and the club's need for cash, this figure is more likely to flex towards the £30 million mark.”

Mateus Mane: Situation summary
