Yuri Alberto marked Corinthians’ Supercopa Rei victory over Flamengo by embracing TV Globo presenter Alex Escobar after scoring the second in a 2-0 win at Mané Garrincha.

"I had to jump the advertising board, otherwise with the momentum I had I would have crashed into him. I almost ran him over. Sorry, Escobar, and thanks for the support. We are together, go Corinthians," he told ge tv.

The clip drew further attention because the goal was initially ruled out for offside. Only after a VAR review was the second confirmed in the final act of the match at Mané Garrincha.

From there his hugs were reserved for team-mates, with no danger to the presenter.

The win gave Timão their first Supercopa do Brasil in 35 years, the previous success coming in 1991, also against Flamengo.
