Yuri Alberto overtakes Flamengo rival in G-12 goals after Supercopa triumph

Corinthians beat Flamengo 2-0 to win the Supercopa do Brasil at Estádio Mané Garrincha on Sunday, securing their second title in the competition. Yuri Alberto scored the second, a strike that moved him to 18 goals against G-12 sides since 2025. He overtook Arrascaeta on 17, with Kaio Jorge leading on 20.

His haul breaks down as five against Santos, four against Palmeiras and three against Internacional. He has two apiece versus Vasco da Gama, São Paulo and Flamengo.

Alberto finished 2025 as Corinthians’ top scorer with 19 goals. He has already scored three this year.

Corinthians host Capivariano at Neo Química Arena on Thursday at 20:30. The striker is expected to be rested as he continues to recover from a viral illness, with the expectation that he will be available against Palmeiras on Sunday.
