Yuri Alberto will miss Corinthians' trip to Santos on Sunday at Vila Belmiro, and says he expects to be available again next week, aiming to face Chapecoense on 19.

According to Globo.com, the forward spoke at an event in São José dos Campos, where he was honoured by São José Basketball. He said he has finished the transition phase of his recovery and can be named in Dorival Júnior's squad from next week, adding that Thursday's game is against Chapecoense in Chapecó.

He has not played since 15 February after a grade 2 injury to the left hamstring. He left the pitch in tears and was carried off during the São Bernardo match in the Paulistão.

He said he has worked hard to return in good condition, accepts it is a delicate moment for the team, and feels confident about helping his team-mates.

On Wednesday Corinthians lost to Coritiba at the Neo Química Arena and stayed on seven points in the Brasileirão, in 10th place. On Friday members of an organised supporters' group visited the training centre to demand more from the squad.

A possible Corinthians line-up for Sunday could include Hugo Souza, Matheuzinho, Gabriel Paulista, Gustavo Henrique, Matheus Bidu, Raniele, Allan, André, Breno Bidon or Rodrigo Garro, Memphis Depay and Gui Negão.
