Yuri Alberto’s goal and celebration lift Corinthians past Velo Clube

Corinthians defeated Velo Clube with a goal in the final minutes, securing three points and climbing up the Paulistão standings. As usual, the club released the behind-the-scenes footage of the match on the official channel, capturing the team's arrival at Benitão, the players' preparation in the locker room, warm-up, and speeches before the game started.

“Together, running for each other, understanding how the game will be on the field. What will the game demand? Whether to play, duel, but we win in any situation,” praised Hugo Souza moments before leaving the locker room for the game – see the full behind-the-scenes below.

The goal for the three points was scored by Yuri Alberto, who came on only in the second half after Corinthians struggled to open the score. The forward celebrated with the Fiel Torcida, at the barriers between the field and the stands, and thanked the fans for their presence at the Rio Claro stadium.

“Incredibly gratifying. Thank God for our great opportunity, for that little ball at the end, we always joke ‘oh, never my turn’. But, thank God, this ball came to us, and we secured a great victory here. We know that each victory gives us even more confidence for the week ahead. We have tough games and decisions. The victory here away from home was important for us. Thank you for the affection and strength that this city's fans gave us here,” commented the number 9.

After facing Velo Clube away, Corinthians turns its attention to the debut in the Brazilian Championship. Next Wednesday (28), at 8 PM (Brasília time), the Alvinegro hosts Bahia in Santos, at Vila Belmiro, for the first round of the competition.
