Lazio captain Mattia Zaccagni is excited about the future of his club while reserving special praise for two of his teammates.
The Biancocelesti now have four wins on the bounce between the Serie A and the Europa League after earning a come-from-behind win over Empoli on Sunday afternoon at the Stadio Olimpico.
Zaccagni grabbed the equalizer himself, meeting a sublime cross from Nuno Tavares with a fine header; Pedro then came off the bench in the second half to score a late winner with a vicious strike to the top corner.
The Portuguese left-back and the Spanish veteran have both been on sensational form as of late, so the club captain heaped praise on both of them in his post-match interview with DAZN (via LazioNews24).
We are happy because we are creating something beautiful and exciting. We have many role models to follow, like Pedro who is an extraordinary player and person. Tavares is also extraordinary and gives us many solutions, but everyone is giving their contribution to the cause. We have to continue on this path.
Zaccagni was also asked about his exclusion from the Italian national team for the upcoming international break. The 29-year-old refused to cause any stir, revealing that he and the Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti remain in contact.
