Zamalek’s Director of Football Takes Aim at Zizo in Escalating Legal Feud
Zamalek's sporting director John Edward's officially stepped into the growing legal dispute involving former player Ahmed Sayed Zizo who recently joined arch rivals Al Ahly.
This move comes after Zamalek’s legal team accused Al Ahly of inciting Zizo to rebel. The accusations were made during formal hearing by the Egyptian FA’s Players Status Committee in mid July as Zamalek filed official complaint against the player.
Zizo for his part, had previously lodged complaint demanding overdue payments from Zamalek totalling EGP 82 million along with Egypt cup bonuses as per club regulations.
In televised interview, Zizo’s father insisted:
"My son's owed EGP 82 million by Zamalek and we won’t give up our rights , we’ll use every legal channel available"
He stressed that Zizo remained fully committed until his final day at the club adding that the unpaid dues spanned multiple season not just the final one.
Regarding Zamalek’s claims of training noshows, he responded:
"We've documents proving threats and valid reasons for his absence. Zamalek has no right to fine him"
Reports confirm that John Edward recently appointed as Zamalek's director of football will personally lead the legal charge against Zizo and his camp.
It's reportedly obtained official bank documents of all past payments made to the playe setting the stage for legal proceedings aimed at defending the club's financial integrity.
