Zaniolo ‘offered’ to Milan amid Udinese salary dispute

Nicolò Zaniolo is refusing to train with Udinese amid stalled salary talks, and his representatives have offered him to Milan in the past 24 hours, Daniele Longo’s YouTube channel claims.

The Italy international joined Udinese last summer on loan for €2.5m with an option to buy for a further €5m, with Galatasaray due 50 per cent of any future sale. The deal was hurried, with a pledge to revisit his wages once the season ended.

Negotiations over his pay are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached. Expected at pre-season this week, he instead submitted a medical certificate, a familiar tactic for players pushing to leave.

It remains unclear whether Milan will move for him. He delivered a good campaign, though his injury record is poor and sustained consistency has been lacking in recent years.

Since forcing his Roma exit in February 2023, Zaniolo has played for Galatasaray, Aston Villa, Atalanta, Fiorentina and Udinese. He is under contract with Udinese until June 2029, so the stand-off could escalate if no solution is found for the 27-year-old. He has also been linked with a return to the Stadio Olimpico with Lazio.
