Gabi Zanotti says Corinthians’ upcoming friendlies with a United States selection during the competition pause will be valuable, offering minutes to those who have played less and exposing the squad to a different footballing school.

According to Meu Timao, the first game is scheduled for five June at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, with the second on nine June at Estádio Marcelo Portugal Gouveia at São Paulo’s youth training centre.

Neither friendly is expected to be open to the public.

At the start of the season, the Brabas contested the inaugural Copa das Campeãs in England, a tournament featuring winners of six major continental competitions.

They opened against Gotham FC of the United States and won 1-0, Zanotti scoring late in the second half. In the final they faced Arsenal and lost 3-2 after extra time.

Zanotti added that the short run of games can help the entire group build rhythm and adapt to different styles, which she views as positive for the continued evolution of Brazilian football.

After the Cup break, the Brabas will return to official action in the Campeonato Paulista against Ferroviária, with the date still to be confirmed. The match is expected to be played at Fazendinha in Parque São Jorge.
