Cruzeiro beat Chapecoense 2-1 at Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto on Sunday to rise from 15th to ninth in the Brasileirão, with Luis Sinisterra on target after an earlier effort was ruled out by VAR.

Kaio Jorge converted from the spot in the 27th minute after Matheus Pereira was fouled.
