Zenit eye Corinthians’ young striker as transfer window nears

One of Corinthians’ biggest prospects this season, Gui Negão remains on the radar of European clubs. In addition to the presence of a Bologna-ITA executive at a Timão match, Zenit-RUS has once again shown interest in signing the forward in the next transfer window. The information comes from Meu Timão.

Talks are ongoing only between the Russian club and the player’s staff, with no formal offer made yet. The Russian transfer window opens on January 22, and Corinthians is asking for around 20 million euros to sell the “Filho do Terrão.” This amount is equivalent to approximately R$ 126.3 million at the current exchange rate.

Besides the interest from the Russian club and the observation from the Italians, Gui Negão has also received inquiries from clubs in England, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, but no offers have been made. At 18 years old, he started the season as a starter in the Copinha and earned a spot in the professional squad throughout the year, scoring five goals and providing two assists.

Due to his standout performances, he renewed his contract with Corinthians in the first half of the year, increasing his release clause for international clubs to 100 million euros. Additionally, any Brazilian club wishing to sign the forward must deposit R$ 140 million into Timão’s account.

If the player is sold in the next window, the club from Parque São Jorge should keep 80% of the negotiated amount, as this is the percentage of the player’s economic rights that Corinthians holds.
