The club made two offers to Zenit in an attempt to bring back the captain of their Libertadores title-winning team. But according to ESPN, the defender’s future should remain far from Brazilian football. The Russian club has shut the door on a possible move back to Brazil.

In addition to interest from Fluminense and Palmeiras, Nino has also attracted interest from an undisclosed Spanish club. According to ESPN, Zenit held a meeting this week and decided that the center-back will only leave the team if it is for Spanish football.
