Isheanesu Mauchi, the highly sought-after Zimbabwean national team defender, has broken his silence on declining a major move to recently crowned league champions, Scottland FC. While also rumored to be on the radar of South African side TS Galaxy, the Simba Bhora star chose loyalty over a lucrative deal, citing three core considerations.

In an exclusive interview with FARPost, the 23-year-old center-back explained that his decision-making process always begins with an internal compass. "The first factor that went into making that decision is how I make all of my decisions… looking for the peace that transcends all human understanding," Mauchi stated. “So, do I feel doubts? Do I feel anxiety? Do I feel some type of second-guessing? If I decide to go this way, will I feel peace no matter the outcome? That is how I make all of my decisions.”

Beyond this personal philosophy, Mauchi expressed practical reservations about the sporting project at Scottland. He highlighted concerns over squad stability and his potential role, noting the club's active transfer strategy. "Another thing that then tied into it was how the team was put together, and that a lot of players were acquired. A lot of players were then loaned out, and the team was consistently changing," he added. "So, did I have a cemented place or position in that team? Was I going to be playing? Was I going to be getting game time?"

Mauchi's decision comes after another stellar season where his defensive prowess was crucial for Simba Bhora's third-place finish, helping them secure 18 clean sheets and earning him a consecutive Soccer Stars of the Year nomination.
