Robert Lewandowski’s future at Barcelona is becoming increasingly uncertain, with growing indications that the veteran striker could be on his way out once the current season concludes.
The Polish forward, who remains one of the most experienced and respected figures in European football, has a contract running until 2026.
However, inside the club, there is a growing belief that Barcelona might prefer to move towards a younger attacking option rather than relying on the 36-year-old for another full campaign.
Amid this uncertainty, AC Milan have emerged as a serious contender to sign Lewandowski.
Reports in Italy suggest that the Rossoneri have already made their intentions clear to the player’s entourage, expressing genuine interest in securing his signature if Barcelona decide not to continue with him beyond this season.
According to sources, Milan believe they can lure the striker with a long-term contract, signalling faith in his ability to perform at the highest level for several more years.

In fact, as reported by SPORT, a key figure pushing for this move is none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who now serves as Milan’s sports advisor.
Having experienced a similar late-career resurgence himself, Ibrahimovic, who also moved from Barcelona to Milan, views Lewandowski as the perfect addition to Milan’s attack, capable of delivering consistent performances.
Milan are said to have already held an initial meeting with Lewandowski’s representatives to make their interest official, with another round of discussions expected soon.
The Italian club is prepared to present a two-year deal, similar to the approach they took with Olivier Giroud, a move that turned out to be a huge success for them.
Importantly, Lewandowski’s priority is still to stay at Barcelona, where he has expressed a willingness to accept a pay cut and even adapt to a new, possibly reduced role within the team.
For now, he remains patient, waiting to see whether the Blaugrana decide to place their faith in him for one more year or begin a new chapter without their veteran goalscorer.
