Former Barcelona star Zlatan Ibrahimović is a leading figure behind AC Milan’s push to bring in Blaugrana striker Robert Lewandowski for next season.

The Rossoneri, it is understood, are one of the Pole’s leading suitors ahead of next summer.

This comes as Lewandowski inches toward the close of his contract terms in Catalunya’s capital in 2026.

Milan, in turn, have already gone as far as to make contact with the 37-year-old’s entourage, to make clear their interest in his services.

And playing a leading role in this ongoing offensive on the part of the San Siro brass is the aforementioned Zlatan Ibrahimović.

As per a report from Diario Sport, the Swede, who currently acts as sporting advisor for Milan, is a ‘great supporter’ of the club’s move for Lewandowski.

Ibra and co. are of the opinion that the veteran goalscorer could make a similar impact to that being enjoyed by Luka Modrić in Italy this season.

So much so that Max Allegri’s side would be willing to offer Lewandowski a two-year contract.
