Zubeldia in line for Real Sociedad’s Europa opener against Bournemouth | OneFootball

Igor Zubeldia has completed training and, barring a setback, is in line to face Bournemouth at Anoeta on Thursday in what would be his 38th European outing for Real Sociedad, according to Diario Vasco.

Matarazzo left the centre-back out of Saturday’s league match against Atlético Madrid to keep him available for the continental opener. If he suffers no recurrence, the centre-back pairing will be Jon Martín and Zubeldia against the Cherries, despite Sarr and Beitia impressing at the weekend.

Zubeldia’s full participation was the standout note from Tuesday’s session at José Luis Orbegozo in Zubieta, with work carried out using the Europa League match ball. Real’s centre-back situation therefore looks healthier.

Matarazzo now has his entire first-team group available except Álvaro Odriozola. Pablo Marín could be included in Thursday’s squad.

From Sanse, only goalkeeper Jon Ander Olasagasti, centre-back Luken Beitia and forward Álex Marchal trained with the senior group. That points to Matarazzo avoiding B-team call-ups such as Lebarbier, Carrera, Aguirre or Dani Díaz for this first game, which arrives four days before the long FIFA break.
