Amid a crisis in Fluminense’s management, Luis Zubeldía is the only name being considered by the Ecuadorian Federation to take charge of the national team, according to the outlet “Expresso.” The coach would arrive to take over Ecuador after Sebastián Beccacece’s departure. There are still no negotiations between the parties, and the coach’s contractual situation with Fluminense is something that complicates a possible move by the Argentine to the Ecuadorian national team.

Zubeldía has experience in Ecuadorian football after managing Barcelona de Guayaquil and LDU, but this would be his first experience in charge of a national team.
