Leeds are weighing up January returns for targets they missed previously, with a fresh opening emerging around Facundo Buonanotte.
The Athletic reports Chelsea could send the Argentine back to Brighton next month, and that a switch to Leeds might appeal to the 21-year-old as he looks to relaunch his career. That scenario would give the 49ers ownership a possible second chance after Leeds and Brighton had agreed a summer loan before Chelsea stepped in.
Harry Wilson remains of interest after a deadline-day move for the Fulham No eight collapsed. Talks are also ongoing regarding El Chadaille Bitshiabu, whom Leeds failed to sign ahead of RB Leipzig in 2023.
Buonanotte cost Brighton £10m when he arrived from Rosario Central in January 2023.
However, given Daniel Farke’s recent switch to a three-five-two, Raheem Sterling may be the likelier Chelsea outcast to join. The England international is available this winter after failing to play any football under Maresca this season. Leeds are monitoring the 31-year-old, who can feature up front or at wing-back.
