Liverpool will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Brentford away from home at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League.
Arne Slot’s side will head into the match against the Bees on the back of a 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the league.
Liverpool, who have been linked with Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, are now at the top of the Premier League table with 47 points from 20 matches, four points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, who have played 21 games.
Alisson will keep his place in goal for Liverpool and will have Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Konstantinos Tsimikas in front of him in defence.
Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have formed a strong partnership in holding midfield for the Reds this season and will keep their places against Brentford.
Diogo Jota felt some discomfort against Forest in midweek and is unlikely to get a start against the Bees.
Luis Diaz started against Forest. Slot deployed the Colombia international winger as the centre-forward.
That is unlikely to be the case against Brentford. Darwin Nunez is back from suspension, and the £140,000-a-week (SalarySport) striker should go straight into the starting line-up.
Diaz missed training on Thursday because of illness, and although he is expected to be available against Brentford, Slot is unlikely to risk the £37.5 million (BBC Sport) winger, especially with the UEFA Champions League game against Ligue 1 club Lille at Anfield coming up next Tuesday.
Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo will be the three attackers, with Nunez leading the line for the Merseyside club, who will be expected to win against Brentford.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez
