Manchester United are said to have an edge in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The French forward has had a breakout season in the Bundesliga, netting 19 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.
Ekitike also impressed by scoring a hat trick for France Under-21s against England Under-21s during the recent international break, with United scouts reportedly present to observe the young striker.
The Mirror claims that Ekitike, a lifelong Manchester United fan, is eager to join the 20-time English champions, even if they fail to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Along with Arsenal and Liverpool, United are among the clubs interested in the forward, with Frankfurt likely to cash in on their prized asset.
Ekitike’s stellar performances this season have elevated him to one of the most sought-after strikers in European football, and several top clubs could be vying for his signature ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported that the Red Devils are seriously considering a move for the attack and the German club are aware of interest from the Premier League side.

Signing a striker is one of the priorities at the club in the summer due to the current poor form of United strikers.
While Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have shown promise in the recent weeks, their goal scoring record this season has been poor.
The Red Devils are also interested in a move for Victor Osimhen who is expected to leave Napoli in a permanent move this summer.
Ruben Amorim is expected to get the backing of the club to make changes to his squad in the summer. The Portuguese tactician is aiming to make additions to attack, midfield and the defense after this season.
A major overhaul of the squad is likely in the summer and Alejandro Garnacho could be one of the players heading out of the club.
