2 Real Madrid stars could start for the first time this season vs Atlético | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has revealed that two members of his squad could be afforded their respective first starts of the campaign in the club’s next outing.

The pair in question? Jude Bellingham, and Eduardo Camavinga.

Both Bellingham and Camavinga are of course fresh off marking their respective returns to the pitch.

Introduced for the final minutes of Real Madrid’s La Liga victory over Espanyol last weekend, the engine room duo were then handed further time on the pitch in a 4-1 triumph at Levante on Wednesday.

As much comes after the former was sidelined after undergoing shoulder surgery, with the latter having been out of action since last season as a result of two separate injury problems.

Next up for Real Madrid this weekend comes a crunch showdown with city rivals Atlético, the first Madrid Derby of the campaign.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Xabi Alonso was therefore drawn on the chances of Jude Bellingham returning to starting duties for the matchup.

And Los Blancos’ headmaster went on to admit:

“Bellingham in the XI? Both he and Camavinga can start.”
