The need to improve and reinforce the team is a constant at FC Barcelona, and understandably so. As a team that is expected to compete for each and every title, La Blaugrana need all the extra firepower they can get. Unfortunately, recent years have been rather difficult for Barcelona in terms of acquiring new players.
Due to the club’s financial issues and restrictions, it has been rather difficult for them to acquire players as per their own liking. Instead, Barcelona has relied a lot more on efficient purchases and strategical signings to find their own loopholes wherever possible.
However, despite some free transfers and low-cost signings, Barcelona have also spent big on some key players. Still, that does not mean that the club becomes complacent about their situation and begins to spend freely. Essential signings are more important for the club at the moment than signing star players.
Now, as per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona could be looking at such a player who can be described as someone whose profile fits what the Catalan giants need at the moment. That player would be none other than Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume.
Aged 22, the French midfielder is someone who has been a constant for Garcia Pimienta’s Sevilla team this season. His strength and technical ability is something that has caught Barça’s eye, as he fits the profile of the kind of physical midfielder that La Blaugrana could consider signing in the summer.
While his ownership may currently be divided between Sevilla and Inter Milan, he is currently showcasing his talents in Spain. Thanks to his performances, he is now on the radar of Barcelona as well. For La Blaugrana, he is a player that the club is closely monitoring at the moment.
However, the Catalan giants could end up having to square up against Arsenal for his signature. The English Premier League side is reportedly in a better position to acquire his services right now, but Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on any and all developments that may end up taking place.
