Ferran Torres has been one of the FC Barcelona players who have been linked with a move away from the Blaugrana club in recent weeks.
The Spanish forward has recently been linked with clubs such as Atletico Madrid, where he is seen as a potential successor to Antoine Griezmann, as well as Inter Milan, who have reportedly considered including him in a deal involving Alessandro Bastoni. However, attention from England is now intensifying.
According to TeamTalk (via Mundo Deportivo), both Manchester United and Arsenal are closely monitoring Torres ahead of a possible move.
Red Devils are believed to be assessing attacking options as they consider a potential replacement for Joshua Zirkzee, with Torres valued for his versatility across the front line. The club is also tracking Iliman Ndiaye, but Torres remains firmly on their radar.
Importantly, any move for the 26-year-old Barcelona forward would be handled independently from discussions surrounding Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Barcelona and has a reported purchase option of around €30 million.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta is understood to be a long-time admirer of Torres and would be open to bringing him to Arsenal if market conditions allow. The Gunners are expected to strengthen their attacking depth, and Torres fits the profile of a flexible forward capable of operating in multiple roles.
Barcelona, for their part, have yet to make a final decision on Torres’ long-term future. His current contract runs until 2027, but no renewal talks have taken place so far. Internally, there is also an ongoing discussion regarding the centre forward position, especially with Robert Lewandowski approaching the final phase of his deal.
While Torres remains a useful squad option, questions persist over his role and consistency, which could influence the club’s stance. If a new contract is not offered, Barcelona may be open to listening to proposals, especially given their financial considerations. But if he does not get an offer, there would be no shortage of suitors for Ferran Torres this summer.
