These players will be parting ways with Julien Stephan's side at the end of the season, unless new deals are given

The 2025/26 Championship campaign is coming to a close, and it won't be long until clubs are assessing their out-of-contract stars and deciding who to offer extensions to.

Queens Park Rangers are set to finish in mid-table once again, and next season will mark their 12th consecutive one in the second tier. However, there's general optimism for the future at Loftus Road.

A busy summer transfer window last year, paired with the significant arrival of Ronnie Edwards midway through the season, outlines that the Hoops are ready to go a little more youth-centred in the hopes of challenging for a place in the top eight next season.

With those new arrivals, not many are set to be out of contract at the end of the season, but there will still be decisions to be made about these five players.

Rhys Norrington-Davies - Loan

Rhys Norrington-Davies is the only player currently on loan at QPR, and he's set to return to Sheffield United in the summer.

With his current Blades deal not set to run out until 2027, he'll at least be under contract at Bramall Lane next season, but the Sheffield Star reports that his parent club are open to him parting ways permanently this summer.

The 15-capped Welsh international has enjoyed a much-needed injury-free season and will be looking to hit the ground running wherever his next move is, whether that be a permanent move to QPR or elsewhere.

Steve Cook

One player who QPR have already confirmed to be parting ways with the club this summer is veteran centre-back Steve Cook.

The 35-year-old made his 100th and final appearance for the R's against Swansea City last month, with the club writing that they will be "looking to the future" for the final couple of games of the season, and perhaps beyond, too.

His time at Loftus Road may not be completely over, though, as the club reportedly offered him a coaching role for the future, if he chooses to hang up the boots at the end of the current campaign.

Paul Nardi

QPR's goalkeeper situation hasn't been the greatest this season, as the Hoops rank among the bottom of the goals conceded ranks in the Championship, despite sitting in the top half when it comes to expected goals conceded.

Paul Nardi has been in and out of the side all season and was completely out of the side throughout 2026 until he made his return in the penultimate game of the campaign against Derby County.

Despite that reintegration into the starting eleven, the 31-year-old will likely be let go, as the Hoops look to freshen up the goalkeeper spot ahead of next season.

Ben Hamer

Veteran shot-stopper Ben Hamer arrived to provide cover in the goalkeeper position after Joe Walsh was sidelined in September with a broken wrist.

The 38-year-old initially arrived on a short-term deal, and in January, extended that deal with another short-term one, likely until the end of this season, albeit unclear through the club's announcement.

Despite how useful it will have been to have such an experienced head in the group, especially to help guide 24-year-old Walsh at times through what has been a difficult year, it would be a surprise to see Hamer's playing contract extended further at the end of the season.

Isaac Hayden

Isaac Hayden returned to QPR in the summer after leaving Newcastle United. He spent the latter half of the 2023/24 campaign at Loftus Road and has been just as useful in the engine room at times this season.

Do you think any of these players should be given new deals at QPR this summer? Let us know in the comments.

With the development of both Jonathan Varane and Nicolas Madsen at the heart of the Hoops' midfield this season, it's been difficult for the 31-year-old to get regular starts, but he's proven an apt replacement when either has been injured.

The final few months of the campaign have seen 20-year-old Kieran Morgan step up to be the first backup in the midfield, though, and with Cook's departure being down to the club "looking to the future," perhaps the same thought process may deny Hayden an extension this summer.
