Chelsea vs Newcastle

Chelsea appear on the up under Enzo Maresca and will want to continue their hoodoo over Newcastle this weekend.

The visitors have won just once in 29 attempts at Stamford Bridge and arrive without a win in four Premier League games.

There were plenty of positives in Chelsea’s performance despite defeat at Liverpool last weekend and the Blues look well placed to challenge for Champions League qualification this season. A win this weekend would put a dent in the hopes of a potential top-four rival.

Marseille vs Paris Saint-Germain

Marseille meet Paris Saint-Germain in Le Classique this weekend, French football’s biggest showdown.

There’s no love lost when these teams meet and Marseille will be out to upset the division’s dominant force. Just three points separates leaders PSG from third-placed Marseille, while the teams are the two highest-scorers in the division with 46 between them after just eight games.

Expect fireworks.

Inter Milan vs Juventus

The blockbuster battles just keep on coming.

The Derby d’Italia takes place at the San Siro this weekend as Inter and Juventus meet in a rivalry that has occasionally got ugly.

Inter are the reigning Serie A champions and sit second in the table, a point and place above Juventus who have not lost in the league this season. Thiago Motta’s team have conceded just one goal in eight games, but face off against the formidable Lautaro Martinez this weekend.

The clash will also see the Thuram brothers meet in opposition for the first time. Khéphren Thuram followed in the footsteps of father, Lilian, in signing for Juventus in the summer. His older brother, Marcus, is a key figure for Inter.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates as the Premier League title challengers collide in the capital.

Mikel Arteta’s men will want to respond to last weekend’s defeat at Bournemouth, but the problems are mounting for the Gunners who have series of big-name absentees. Martin Odegaard (ankle) and Bukayo Saka (hamstring) look set to miss out, while there’s a defensive injury crisis with William Saliba suspended and Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber out injured.

This weekend’s game will be a true test of the title credentials of both teams, as league leaders Liverpool arrive in fine form.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona

Games don’t come bigger than this one.

The world will watch as El Clásico takes centre stage in Spain on Saturday evening, as Real Madrid take on Barcelona in the latest chapter of their eternal rivalry.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side were favourites to defend their La Liga and Champions League crowns after supercharging their side with the signing of Kylian Mbappe in the summer, but Los Blancos trail a resurgent Barcelona in the title race.

Hansi Flick has reinvigorated the Catalans, who have won nine of their 10 games to open up a three-point lead over Real Madrid in the title race. To add an extra element of heat, Real Madrid are one win or draw from equalling La Liga’s longest ever unbeaten run – Barcelona currently own the record of 43 games unbeaten.

This game is gargantuan for both teams.
