FLW takes a look at every single player you may have forgotten are still at Stoke City

Stoke City are heading into a new era, hopeful that this year will be the year they finally break their trend of finishing in the bottom half of whatever league they are competing in, and have been extremely active in the summer transfer window thus far.

When it was announced that Steven Nzonzi and Lewis Baker would be leaving Stoke this summer at the end of their deals, the midfield area all of a sudden became a glaring weakness for the Potters, if it wasn't already, with just Tomas Rigo, Tatsuki Seko, and Ben Pearson to pick from.

However, the additions of Djibril Soumare for €4 million (£3.4 million) from Braga, Ethan Galbraith from Swansea City for as much as £10 million per certain reports, and Svante Ingelsson from Sheffield Wednesday for just £1 million have helped to remedy those worries.

Joshua Griffiths joins from West Bromwich Albion for £600k to serve as deputy to Viktor Johansson, and Luke Graham bolsters the defence for around £2 million, with the Scottish international joining from Dundee.

Following Nzonzi and Baker out of the door at the bet365 Stadium recently was Serbia winger Nikola Jojic, who saw his contract with the club end by mutual consent, having played a grand total of 18 minutes after joining for a potential £1.7 million three years ago from Mladost.

With many having forgotten or not realised Jojic was still at the club, FLW has taken a look at five players you may not have known who are still contracted to the Potters.

Sam Gallagher

Sam Gallagher joined Stoke in the summer of 2024 from Blackburn Rovers for around £1.5 million, agreeing a three-year deal which Capology estimates is worth around £25k per week, and it would be fair to suggest that the money spent on the 30-year-old hasn't been worth it.

With just five goals and one assist in 42 appearances across all competitions for the Potters, Gallagher has spent more time in the treatment room than on the pitch during his stay at the bet365 Stadium.

Alan Nixon previously reported that Stoke could look to shift him on this summer for a minimal fee to get his wages off the books, which, given his injury record and poor return, isn't exactly surprising.

Ben Gibson

Signed in the same summer as Gallagher, also on a three-year deal, but on an eye-watering £35k per week, as per Capology estimates, Ben Gibson has been a disaster of an addition.

Steven Schumacher was looking for an experienced head at the back to lead the Potters in his first full season in charge in North Staffordshire, and snapped Gibson up on a free transfer following his release from Norwich City.

Five games later, Schumacher was sacked, and since Mark Robins took the reins in January 2025, the former Burnley and Middlesbrough defender has seen his game time drastically decrease.

Falling behind each of Bosun Lawal, Maksym Talovierov, Ben Wilmot, and Ashley Phillips in the pecking order, the recent addition of Luke Graham won't help him get on the pitch anytime soon, though whether anyone would be willing to subsidise his lucrative wage for a year remains to be seen, as he is set to remain on the peripheries in the Potteries.

Robert Bozenik

Signed on a free transfer last summer from Boavista, 57-time capped Slovakian international Robert Bozenik struggled in his first year in England.

The 26-year-old took 19 games to net his first goal for Stoke, coming in a 1-0 win away to Hull City on the cusp of half-time, but he would suffer a painful shoulder injury just after the interval, ruling him out for months and halting his momentum in brutal circumstances.

Having recently taken the number 9 shirt at the bet365 Stadium, Bozenik will be hoping for a much better year this time around, as he finally looks to get his Stoke career up and running.

Frank Fielding

Joining in December 2021 as a backup option, 38-year-old goalkeeper Frank Fielding is entering his fourth full season in the Potteries, where he has made just one senior appearance in that time.

The former Bristol City and Derby County number one has acted as a third-choice option ever since he arrived at the club, a role he seems more than content with, and is highly-regarded by his teammates behind the scenes.

Signing a new deal with Stoke until next summer, Fielding will continue to serve as an option behind Johansson and Griffiths, and unless a series of bad injuries occur, will likely never make another appearance for the club.

Ato Ampah

Signed in January 2026 from Chelsea for a reported £3 million, Ato Ampah remains an unknown quantity at senior level.

Taking the number 14 shirt at the club, the winger is expected to be in and around the first-team fold next season, though what sort of impact he will have on Robins' squad remains to be seen.

Twice capped by England's Under-20's and eligible to represent Ghana, Ampah is best off the right flank, where he will likely push Million Manhoef for a starting berth for the Potters, though you'd be forgiven for not realising he was at the club given he is yet to make his debut for the club six months after signing.
