Mile Svilar looks a great option for a team looking for a goalkeeper this summer – the question is if Chelsea are willing to pay up.

Chelsea are planning some big changes this summer if you’re to believe the briefings coming out these last few weeks. The Blues are going to add experienced, senior players to their youthful group, and it feels certain that one position they’re going to strengthen in goal.

When Robert Sanchez was swapped out for Filip Jorgensen earlier this season, it marked the third season in a row where there had been a change in goal for the Blues. That tells you that Sanchez simply isn’t good enough. The fact that he’s ended up back as number one on all three occasions tells you that his competition isn’t good enough either.

Right now there’s a lot of talk about young Mike Penders and whether he’s ready to step up from a loan at Strasbourg to be our numbers one. If he’s not, it seems like there’s a target out there ready and waiting for us.

Chelsea line up Svilar deal – but big price could put them off

CaughtOffside claim that Mile Svilar of Roma is seen as an instant solution in goal for the Blues. The 26 year old has really impressed in the last couple of years, and is ready for a move to a top team.

The €50m fee being talked about is big – but we’ve all seen how much a bad goalkeeper can cost you. If you find the right guy, no sum is too big.

In other news…

Gary Cahill continues to back this current Chelsea project, despite a lot of evidence that it’s simply not working out.

Tosin got a start and a clean sheet on Saturday, and after the game he took the chance to praise his mate Cole Palmer.
