FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski showed he still has what it takes to play at the highest level with an impressive hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga just before the November international break.
Despite missing many games this season through injury, Lewandowski is the second-leading goalscorer in La Liga, just behind Kylian Mbappe. The Pole continues to defy his age, but he is in the final year of his contract at FC Barcelona.
Now, according to The Guardian, the Catalan club has made Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane their first-choice target to replace Lewandowski and may well be prepared to trigger his €65 million release clause, which becomes active next summer.

One of the best strikers in the Premier League during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, a lack of silverware prompted Kane’s move to Bayern Munich. The 32-year-old has enjoyed an excellent couple of seasons at the German club.
Kane’s record at Bayern is astonishing, to say the least. He has scored 108 goals in 113 appearances. Those numbers are frankly ridiculous, and at 32, he is showing no signs of slowing down. He could still have three or four good seasons left at the top level.
At that price, signing the €75 million-rated Englishman is a no-brainer. The important thing is whether he desires to wear the Blaugrana jersey. A move to Barcelona is always an appealing option, and we will have to wait and see if Kane decides to go down this route.
