According to a report from L’Équipe, Everton are considering replacing Sean Dyche with Paulo Fonseca.
Dyche was sacked as Everton manager on Thursday with the Premier League side’s new owners, the Friedkin Group, now on the search for a successor. David Moyes has been heavily linked with a return to the Merseyside club. The Scottish manager has been out of work since leaving West Ham United at the end of last season.
However, other managers are in contention for the role, including Fonseca. The Portuguese manager has been out of work since being sacked by AC Milan at the end of December. That short spell in Italy came after a stint at Lille OSC, where he secured UEFA Champions League football for the Ligue 1 side.
As per L’Équipe, Fonseca is the priority for Everton. However, the Portuguese manager already has some good contacts with other clubs and could wait until the end of the season before jumping into a new project.
