Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has revealed the secret behind the Buccaneers' top and consistent form this season.

The Soweto giants currently sit in second place with 22 points on the Betway Premiership table and trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by two points with two games in hand.

In domestic cup competitions, Pirates have already clinched the MTN8 and are set to battle for the Carling Knockout Cup trophy with Marumo Gallants in the final next month.

When quizzed on his team's fine form, the former Morocco international attributed it to the healthy environment created in the Bucs camp, which enables the players to pull in the same direction.

“I think they step by step get it, you can see that the players like I told you, are on the project. It's very important to create the right environment of trust between the players and the staff and afterwards speak about tactics and speak about what we want to implement on the pitch,” said Ouaddou.

"And I think since the beginning the guys understand exactly what are the expectations, you can see it. We want to score goals, we want to be disciplined tactically and you can see that Orlando Pirates is consistent, it's strong - it's not easy to score goals against us.

Meanwhile, Pirates will return to action with a Betway Premiership clash against bottom-placed Chippa United at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, 25 November.
